The last twenty miles of a journey are usually the worst part of it. A float-equipped Caravan removes them.
An amphibious Caravan can use a runway or a stretch of protected water, which puts the aeroplane where the destination actually is rather than where the nearest airport happens to be. For island work, remote lodges and yacht transfers, that is the difference between a same-day arrival and an overnight in a connecting city.
Where it fits alongside the jets
The Caravan is not a substitute for a Citation — it is the leg the Citation cannot fly. A typical pattern moves guests by jet to the nearest capable field, then transfers to the Caravan for the water arrival. Both legs sit on the same certificate and the same booking.
- Wheels-or-water operation, so weather and sea state do not strand the plan.
- Nine passenger seats with real baggage volume, including dive and fishing gear.
- Short-field performance on the wheeled configuration for unimproved strips.
